About
Hi I'm Emily. I work with adults, teens, and couples who are stuck in the overthinking loop. You know the one. You replay every conversation, second guess every decision, and lay awake at 2am wondering if you are doing any of this right. That is exactly where most of my clients start and it is exactly where I can help.
I have spent the last 10 years in private practice in downtown Chicago working with people navigating ADHD, anxiety, relationship problems, and those messy life transitions that nobody prepares you for. New job, new baby, divorce, empty nest, quarter life crisis, midlife crisis, all of it. I use CBT and DBT to give you actual tools that work in your real life not just in a therapy office. For couples I use the Gottman Method which is the closest thing to a science-backed manual for how to stop having the same fight over and over again.
What I love most about this work is watching someone go from I don't know what's wrong with me to oh that's why I do that. That shift changes everything. If you are tired of feeling stuck and ready to actually understand yourself better let's start with a free 15 minute call. No pressure. Just a conversation to see if we click.

Approach
I'm warm but I won't let you stay comfortable if comfortable is keeping you stuck. My style is collaborative and practical. I ask a lot of questions, I connect dots you might not see yet, and I always make sure you leave with something concrete you can actually use before our next session. I use humor when it fits because therapy doesn't have to feel heavy every single time. Some sessions are deep and emotional. Others feel more like strategy sessions where we map out a plan. I read the room and adjust. My clients describe me as the therapist who feels like talking to a really smart friend who also happens to know the science behind why your brain does what it does.
